We invited our friend and TV Presenter, Anna Richardson, in to The Door W4 clinic to discuss her skin concerns and how non-surgical skin tightening treatment Morpheus8 can help.

Anna Richardson sat down with our resident Aesthetics Practitioner and Cosmetic Dentist, Dr Julia Coelho to discuss her skin with a focus on the Morpheus8 micro-needling and radiofrequency treatment for skin tightening. Anna explains to Dr Julia that she looks after her skin very well but has seen some changes to certain areas quite recently.

“The thing that’s really concerning me at the moment, I'm 53 years old, I’ve really noticed over the last 18 months that it’s my lower face that’s dropping” Anna pointed to her lower cheeks, jawline and neck area, “it’s the bottom of the face that nothing seems to touch at all”.

 

DR JULIA RECOMMENDS MORPHEUS8 FOR ANNA - non-surgical skin tightening

Dr Julia advises, “when you reach your 40s, you need to invest in your collagen bank”, how can we trigger that?

We use non-surgical skin rejuvenation technologies such as Morpheus8 to tighten skin and encourage to body's natural ability to repair by producing collagen. Sometimes, we add volume to areas with Dermal Fillers, but Dr Julia recommended Anna to avoid these as she already has natural volume in the face.

COLLAGEN BOOSTING TREATMENT - the same or different to Botox and Fillers?

  • Botox and fillers offer results straight away
  • Machine based treatments and boosters offer natural results over a period of time, they are not overnight results. "We normally we see the best results after 6-12 months after treatment" Dr Julia explains.
  • Morpheus8 uses 12-24 gold plated needles to trigger a cascade of repair from mechanical, controlled trauma to the skin.
  • Morpheus8 can be uncomfortable, and it does hurt. However, “I don’t believe that beauty should hurt!” Dr Julia explains “I am a Dentist so I can offer dental blocks” – these are injections inside the mouth for complete numbness, Anna looks relieved after hearing this!
  • Morpheus8 can shrink your fat. “Can that happen?” Anna asks surprised, Dr Julia explains “it depends on the settings. If you have a little excess fat in the neck area, we can target that area with tweaking the settings with more energy.”
  • Dr Julia advises post treatment, "don’t take anti-inflammatories for the first few days. You want that inflammation to start the repair process. A little bit of swelling is normal."
